Carla Cook

I’m a brand and content marketing professional with 25+ years experience building and evangelizing cutting-edge technologies. I like to work with forward-thinking organizations that lead with creativity and seek to leverage technology for the benefit of humanity.

I have a deep well of knowledge when it comes to crafting and disseminating effective, compelling content with a memorable voice, as well as the channels, strategies, and metrics through which to disperse it. I'm a thoughtful, measured strategist on digital media, sales enablement, and partner programs. An accomplished writer, I'm also skilled at helping others write, shaping ideas and narratives while maintaining their original voice.

In my current role as Senior Director of Content at argodesign, I manage the content strategy, direction, tone, and execution across argo's 4 studios. Formerly a director of communications and business development at The Daily Dot and emerging technology analyst at The Guidewire Group, I’ve also founded 3 companies, served widely as a presenter, event host, and moderator, and had the distinction of serving as publicist to Linus Torvalds, inventor of the Linux operating system.

In my spare time, I write a weekly media newsletter, Three Things, recommending film, TV, and books both low and highbrow. I finished in the top 10% of over 700 contestants at the American Crossword Puzzle tournament in 2024. And I'm a 15-year resident of Austin, TX, who definitely wants you to stop moving here.
